Teacher ResourcesThis page contains a wide range of useful teacher resources which have been developed, tried and tested thoroughly over the years. Their sole purpose is to make some of the administrative, data-based tasks of the teacher easier, faster and clear to use and understand. All of the resources below were developed for secondary music teaching, but many of them are also applicable to other subjects as well. After payment has been received, you will get the resources via email. Monitoring Sheets Spreadsheets for keeping track of attendance register, names, forms, gender, student information (SEN/G&T etc.) and homeworks/assessments. Can be used electronically or prints off very neatly as well. Are pre-formatted for KS3, KS4 and KS5 but can easily be used for and group of children of any age.
Assessment Sheets (GCSE and AS Music) Spreadsheets for storing specific assessment data. You type scores into the pre-formatted boxes and the computer calculates accurate grades, predicted grades, average effort so far (handy for reports) and also the the percentage of students (boys and girls independently) who achieve the grades in your class. Notes: 1) If you have less than the 30 student spaces on the sheet, please delete the relevant rows to make the averages for your class correct. 2) This spreadsheet is not protected, but if you wish to protect it (choosing your own password), the cells which require no alteration will be locked and the others will be unlocked.
Controlled Conditions Sheets (AS Music) Spreadsheets for recording how many minutes and hours your students have spent on controlled conditions tasks. Clear, simple system which is also traffic-light colour coded to warn when you're near the maximum. Is preset for music courses below, but number of hours and colour coding can easily be changed to suit any course.
Key Stage 3 (aged 11-14) The Level tracker below is a simple gird which students can stick into their books. Whenever they attain a National Curriculum level for a piece of work, they write it in the correct cell of the grid. This helps them and the teacher to keep track of their levels, and they can see progress and areas for improvement. It is linked to Assessment for Learning.
It is good practice to encourage students to reflect on and evaluate what they have learned and achieved in a unit of work or topic. This template provides a framework for them to think carefully about what they did. It is music-specific, but can be adapted to any subject.
Key Stage 4 (aged 15-16) The electronic forms below have been designed to allow GCSE music teachers to provide high quality feedback to students with the minimum of work. The are beneficial as an information tool but also as a basis for dialogue for improvement.
Key Stage 5 (aged 17-18) Below is a resource which was designed for the Music Technology GCE Course - an interactive studio layout which allows students to move things about within the studio in the process of planning a recording session.
